Data Communication/Wired Base and Wireless Transmission

Data Communication

Data communication is a process of transferring data electrically from one place to another. It can be transferred by using different media data is application of graph facts and figures. It may consist of text graphics and sound etc etc. An electromagnetic or light waves are used to transmit data from one place to another is called a signal. Propagation of signal across a communication medium is called signaling. Communication of data from one place to another place in the form of signal you called transmission.

Elements of data communication

1.  Sending device

A device that sends the message is called sending device. It is also called source a transmitter the sending device can be a computer fax machine are mobile phone. It is a computer is usually used as sending device in communication system.

2.   Receiving device

A dvice that receive the message is called receiving device. It is also called sync the receiving device can be a computer printer fax machine or mobile phone. A computer is usually used as receiving device in communication system.

3.  Communication Devices

Communication devices are used to transmit messages between the sending and receiving device through communication medium the sending and receiving devices must contain communication devices for communication. Two most commonly used communication devices are Modem and Network Card

4.  Transmission Medium

Transmission medium is used to carry messages from one place to another it is also called communication channel. The transmission medium can be a physical cable are wireless communication.

Types of communication

1.  Wire based communication
2.  Wireless communication

Wire based communication

A type of communication in which data is transmitted from one device to another using physical transmission medium as called wild based communication. Different physical media are twisted pair cable, coaxial cable and fibre optical cable. It required installation of cables and connecting different devices with the cables.

Wireless Communication

A type of communication in which data is transmitted from one device to another using wireless transmission media is called wireless communication. Different wildest media radio waves microwaves and infrared etc, and the wireless communication is more convenient and then why based communication.

Data Transmission Modes

The way in which data is transmitted from one place to another is called data transmission mods

Types of Transmission modes

There are three types of data transmission mode the noun as simplex mode, Half duplex mode and full duplex mode

1.  Simplex mode

In simplex mode data can flow only in One Direction. It cannot be  moved in both direction. It operates in a manner similar to a one way direction of flow never change with a device with simplex mode can either send or receive data it cannot perform both action.

Example of Simplex Mode

An example is a traditional television broadcast the signal is sent from the transmitter to TV antenna there is no return signal.

2.  Half-duplex traffic

In half duplex mode data can flow in both direction but not at the same time. It is transmitted one way at one time a device with Half duplex mode can send a receive data but not at the same time they that is why the speed of half duplex mode is slow.

Example of half duplex traffic/mode

Internet surfing add an example of half duplex communication. The user issues request for a web page the web page is downloaded and displayed before the user issues and other request.

3.  Full duplex mode

In full duplex mode data can travel in both directions simultaneously.  Full duplex mode field of faster way of data transmission as compared to half duplex time is not wasted in changing the direction of data flow.

Example of full duplex mode

Telephone is a full duplex  device both person can talk at the same time and other example of full duplex communication is automobile traffic on a two line road the traffic can move in both direction at the same time.

Formed of Data Transmission

Digital data transmission

Digital signal is a sequence of voltage  represented  in binary form. The Digital Signal are in the form of electrical pulses of on and off these signals are in discret form. Digital signals are faster and efficient they provide low error. They are provide high transmission speed and high quality voice transmission. All data communication between the computer is in digital form computer understand and work only in digital form.

Analog data transmission

Analog signal  is a continuous electrical signal in the form of a wave the wave is known as carrier wave. Telephone line is most commonly used media for analogue transmission of data light sound,  radio and microwave are example of analogue signals.

Types of data transmission

1.  Asynchronous Transmission

A type of data transmission in which data is transmitted character by character is called Asynchronous  transmission that it is not continuous and there can be a regular gap between characters. It is less efficient and slower than asynchronous transmission. An asynchronous transmission uses a start and stop by at the start signal is sent when the character that is about  2 bit of " A "start "B"has a value of zero it is called a state.

The value of zero indicates that a character is about to be transferred it alerts the receiver as it gets ready to receive the character of the stop b is transmitted at the end of each character. It informs receiver that the character is a finished. It has a binary value 1 a value of one is start B indicate that the line is idle. It  is called mark state.

2.  Synchronous Transmission

A type of data transmission in which data is transmitted block by block is called Synchronous transmission. Each block may consist of men attracted the it uses a clock to control the timing of  being sent. A large amount of information can be transmitted at a single time with this type of transmission...
